This software: SCV (Source Code Versioning) provides feature to backup pieces of code in multiple versions. You can choose to revert to any previous versions or delete any unwanted or unused version. It is also a backup tool that stores the entire project source codes' versions and export to one zip file. Restoring is possible with the backup zip file.
SCV run as a stand-alone program, so you can use it to backup any kind of projects: php, java, python, asp, c#, sql, etc. Simply create a new project and point to the source code root folder. Then you may let SCV automatically creates first backup version for all source files by selecting the menu "Create All". You may also use "Rever All" to rollback all source files or "Rever" to revert one file at a time.

By integrating with source code compare program, you can view and compare multiple versions of each piece of code. See the changes made for each version, then make the next move.
More than a backup program..
SCV is more than a backup tool as it creates and backup all versions of source files. It is more like a stand-alone document management program. It can be applied to Office Documents like text files, excel/spreadsheet or presentation files.
